Well folks I pray all are well. My bucket list has had something in it that I didn't think would ever happen. I enjoy running, always have but really have enjoyed it later in life. I had run 2 marathons with my best time being 4:18. I have also run many half marathons as well as 5 & 10k's. When my 60th birthday came up I thought I needed to do another marathon, that was the 2nd one I ran and it was on my birthday March 13th. After I ran that marathon in North Carolina I was curious what the Boston marathon qualifying time for my age group was. It was 3:55 and to be assured of getting in one needs to get a 3:50. Well me being the way I am I said I can do that, it is only a 28 minute improvement that's all, lol. Well I signed up for my 3rd marathon the Indianapolis Monumental marathon which was the 1st one I ran. It was November of 2016. Well I ended up running a 3:46:05, an improvement of 32 minutes, whew. So I qualified for Boston 2018. Yes, 2018 since I can't register until September. I will need to register right when it opens as the race fills up right away. So now I need to stay in shape longer, ha. My goal is to PR in Boston, will see. I will be running the half at Sturgis Falls, can't wait. Boston is a dream come true and running has been so good.
