| About Me | I graduated from the UofA with a dual masters' degree in elementary ed/special ed. In 1969 I joined the Peace Corps where I served for three years in the West Indies as a teacher. I tracked the Viet Nam war on the BBC (a fascinating perspective - nothing like hearing on the BBC radio that "They are now shooting students at a University in the US" referring to Kent State). The ping-pong ball draft system was implemented while we were overseas and with no internet or phones or texting, we had NO clue where anyone stood with their number. Moved with my first husband from the tropics (population 98% black) to Salt Lake City Utah (98% white) so he could go to graduate school. I taught pre-school, served as a Teaching Assistant at the University, and survived snow from October to April for two years. We moved to (FABULOUS) San Luis Obispo where I ended up working at Bank of America and then as the Executive Director of our County Special Olympics where my special ed and my banking background merged.
