Coach James was the reason me and some teammates would get up at 6a every weekday to run wind sprints, weeks before 2-a-days started in August. You had to be ready to do 20 40-yarders. As a backup tight end (I was backupl to many great players at several positions) I snuck in with the linemen to run sprints. Until I would eventually get caught and get moved into the receivers and running backs group.
RIP Coach James. A real blessing to spend those years with him.
