Craig and I had a lot of fun together, sharing nearly every class together for our first two years at Catalina. In Spanish class he was known as "Shlanko". He was always cheerful and once wrote me the following poem as a joke . . . I think.
You are so very near to me,
Forever at my side.
Fate has decreed for you and me,
Together to abide.
You are with me every hour,
Every minute of the day.
You have become a part of me -
I wish you'd go away!

I remember that he wanted to be a forest ranger but don't know if that ever happened for him.
We rode our bicycles to school every morning the first year or two and we would park at a friend's house near the school.
He is one of the people I remember fondly when I think back on the time we spent at Catalina High School.

I babysat him and his sisters one night when I was a teenager. He had just seen 2001: A Space Odyssey and was home while I was there. He was pretty excited about the movie and we had a long talk about it. I always wondered about him, but his Mom and sisters said he was living and working, and things were good for him
