Ralph J. Herman Sr.

Class of 1954

How about the events that took place in as I recall, 1953 when the father of two CPHS students, one from my class, claimed to have found Pot under a bush at CPHS and took his two teenagers out and enrolled them in San Fernando. Made the press, because he was a dishonest person. Had cattle on a small ranch on Balboa Boulevard, and claimed to have sold a large Bull for mating purposes, but sold the same Bull over and over to unsuspecting buyers until he was caught. That ended his ranch and he disappeared. I never heard anymore about the daughter and son. And here's a good story that took place in as I recall 1952, was Kennith Morrison from the Morrison Ranch, who won the major Cattleman's contest at the States Fair in Pomona as I again recall. A great student, FFA Member, great guy and family who went on with more cattle and ranches in So, Cal. and up here in the Paso Robles area. That was a major win and up undoubtedly have articles on it in your History Library. I have numerous stories on my activities which made the press numerous times, in Hollywood, the SFV and even Sacramento. BTW, if interested, check the LA City Library for a book on the SFV's historical sites and on Tarzana which I am the author on. That's it. Good luck. RJH Sr.
