Dear Fellow Alumni:
As many know, Huyck stadium is being updated into a beautiful facilty. Great for the community!
Time for CHS alumni to upgrade our track and football field. Unfortunately, many in the Village and neighboring areas can't or won't drive downtown to use Huyck.
The football team currently has to practice on the base astroturf, beneath their lights. No wonder they went winless this football season.
Also Cabrillo can no longer host track meets because it doesnt have enough lanes.
Cabrillo will be the only school around with a clay track from the 60s and out of date athletic facilities. It is past time for us to step up and update our alma mater, (boasting an Olympian and many other successful Alumni) which our students so rightly deserve.
Vandenberg Village, the Country Club and surrounding neighborhoods would benefit from a place where kids could bike or walk to, and the community could access to enhance their healthy lifestyles.
