Served as a medical laboratory specialist for 7 years then completed Physician Assistant training and commissioned as a second lieutenant. Finished career as a Family Medicine Physician Assistant. I retired in 2004 and remain in Phoenix.

Took basic at ft. Ord , Ca.1964, then went on to ft,sill, okla.attended artillery surveyor school,then went on to ft.Benning ,Ga. for jump school and received parachute badge, then on to ft Rucker , Ala.where I became a helicopter crew chief.I then went on to Vietnam and served with the 173rd airborne brigade for one year.I then finished my tour with the 101st airborne at Ft. Campbell Ky.1967

After 2 1/2 yrs of college, I ran out of money and since this was the middle of the Vietman conflict, enlisted in the Navy. After 8 months of training and school, I was deployed to Danang, S. Vietnam and work in a floating dry dock repairing supply boats and patrol boats and doing general maintenance. In Oct '69 I was transferred to the U.S.S. Schofield ( DEG-3) as a Second Class Damage Controlman ( E-5) and remained assigned there until my enlistment expired and I returned to school. I did one West-Pac cruise and spent time in the Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, crossed the Equator and cruised off Valsistok Russia. We madfe three ports in Hawaii at Pearl and enjoyed the Navy but missed the family.

My MOS was 053 - Radio Communications. I took my basic at Fort Ord, CA, did advanced training at Fort Gordon, GA, served at Fort Carson, CO and did an overseas tour in Zweibrucken and Frankfurt, Germany. I served from September of 1962 through October 1965 and received an honorable discharge.

Served at National Security Agency, ADAK Alaska, Kami Seya Japan, and aboard the following ships: USNS Jose F. Valdez (T-AG 169), USS Banner (AGER-1), USS Shangri-La (CV-38), USS Saratoga (CVA-60). Promoted to COmmunicatios Technician First Class P.O. In May 1965 after 5 years service.

Went to Orlando, Fl for 6 months. Then stationed on the USS PRAIRIE (AD-15) out of Long Beach, CA for the remaining time as a BM. During that time I was TAD to Long Beach Branch Medical Clinic for 6 months. The USS PRAIRIE (AD-15) deployed to the Persian Gulf in February 1992 for 6 months.
