Cheryl Currie was working with me decoratiing for a Jr. Sno-ball prom. She approached me and ask if i was going to the prom and I had not considered this as I did not have a person I was dating at the time. Cheryl asked me if I would ask Vicky Coluita as she was not planning on coming and did not have a date. Of course, I knew Vicky and we were friends. With no good reason to say NO and being a "nice guy" I agreed to ask her and did so. I told my mom when she picked me up what had happened and she surprisingly responded that she had a thought that this might happen. We did a quick suit, corsage and dinner and I don't remember getting around town but Lydia's was being built and had set up a temporary place in a quonset building adjacent to the place they were having built. It was long picnic tables covered with gigham tablecloths.... Crazy for people and especially girls in gowns but they hopped in and we had a great time. Lost track over the years but this was my first prom and a good time.
