| Favorite School Memory | Getting caught smoking in restroom, swatted by Ass't Principal, then sent home. Going to corner drugstore for lunch and smokes. Making out during noon movies...Getting punched-out after school for being Geek..DWG (Driving While Geek) i.e.,driving to Garner's Burgers on Fri nights in Dad's '55 Chrysler Imperial without a date and wondering why the stares?. Achievements: Was a pre-curser to the "Bart Simpson school of Underachievers". Encountered 'Future Person of Greatness' by riding in car-pool Senior year with John Lithgow and his sister Robin, (John was a sophmore). Years later in 1991, whle he was making a movie in Mtn View (Raising Cain), I contacted John and he invited me into his trailor for a visit between scenes. (He never went 'Hollywood', a real person). | About Me | After college: 1) Peace Corps Training for Ecuador, didn't make final cut. 2) Branch-Office Mgr Training for Ins Co in East Orange, New Jersey, followed by assignments in Manhattan, Long Island, Charlotte and Seattle, where I quit my job and caught a ride down to San Francisco in 1968 in time for the 'Summer of Love'. Became a 'quasi-hippie' (but still in the mainstream of commerce). Didn't overdose, but almost. 3)Mgm't Trainee, General Tire, San Jose, Ca. (Sent back to Akron for training...("What the Heck"?!) 4)Adm Ass't, Grad School of Electrical Engineering, Stanford University (Encounterd William Shockley, Nobel-Prize winner as co-inventor of the transistor). 5)Silk-Screen Printing- Business owner, one of first to introduce souvenir T-shirts in Northern Baja, Mexico (San Felipe, Ensenada, Rosarito Beach). 6)Partners in Brazilian -Coffee Importing Business. 7)Became a 'Mr. Mom' for daughter's first 3 yrs (wife worked at Stanford, I worked at home)...Returned to Stanford for 2 yrs, participated in project to consolidate Gov't-Funded research project's equipment into a centralized database.... Daughter now finishing Grad studies at UC San Francisco Medical Center, to become a Nurse Practicioner. (Nerves are shot after raising a daughter). 8)Trying to retire gracefully without outraging neighbors. Still married to same woman for 40 years. People ask: "Same woman after all these years? Why?". My best reply is: "Lack of imagination". As a side note, after all these years, wife has drawn a knfe on me ONLY 3 times!. People ask: "3 times?"...my response.."That's Love!".
