Vietnam veteran. Passed away at home in San Luis Obispo, CA from metastatic lung cancer. Widow is Carrie Mattingly of San Luis Obispo, CA. Also leaves behind a sister (Bev), one son (John, III), three step-children (1 son-Jake, 2 daughters-Erica, Becky), 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his best friend from the VietNam war (Ken). He enjoyed golfing, motorcycle riding, trivia, and wearing shorts.
