I served three tours in Vietnam-Infantry and two tours Special Operations (Recon). Stateside I was a combat arms instructor and worked for the Department of Defense in assisting in the creation of a new Close Combat system for SpecOps personnel. I deployed to nine different international regions with Marine Corps and Navy Special Operations units. I left the Corps an E-6 (Staff Sargent). One year later I joined the Army National Guard (Infantry) as an NCO Instructor for three years and then worked for the DOD. I was given a medical retirement (only 6 have been allotted) as an E-7 (SFC)
