About Rocky C. Walden
(May 7, 1961 - November 30, 2016)

Funeral service was held on Saturday, December 10th,1:00 p.m. at the Scotland Neck Municipal Auditorium, Main Street, Scotland Neck.

Burial followed in the Charlie and Rosa Walden Family cemetery in Halifax, NC. A public visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the auditorium prior to the funeral service.

Rocky C. Walden’s sunrise was May 7, 1961 in Halifax County, North Carolina to James and the late Evelyn Lyons Walden and his sunset was November 30, 2016 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Rocky, the eldest of three siblings, was raised in a military family, traveled the globe, and attended schools in Fairfield, California; Athens, Greece; and Otis, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Bourne High School in 1977. Soon after graduation, the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska where he obtained an Associate Degree in Communications at the University of Alaska-Anchorage, Anchorage, Alaska.

He continued his love for traveling while employed as a Communications Engineer for over 30 years, working for FOX, CBS, ESPN and a host of other network affiliates around the world. His favorite contract was the 1996 US Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia where his parents were able to attend and watch him work.

His hobbies included taking his motorcycle “Racquel” for a ride through the countryside, spending time with his family and friends, and combining his love of photography and traveling. There was nothing like having a good ole fish fry “on the hill” and telling everyone-“You ain’t taking nothing home!”

The highlight of his life was spending time with his daughter and grandkids.

Rocky was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Lyons Walden and sister, Darlene Walden.
