About	Florence K. Mellor June 21, 2004 The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death June 17, 2004, of retiree Florence K. Mellor, 92, of Falmouth, MA, at Falmouth Hospital. Florence joined the Institution as a secretary in the geophysics group and later worked in the Education Office, the Geology and Geophysics Department, and in Administrative Offices. She retired in 1976 and later worked on a casual basis till 1987. Florence was born in 1911 in Bourne, MA, spent her early life in the Monument Beach area of Bourne and graduated from Bourne High School. She was predeceased by her son Richard G. Mellor. A memorial service took place in the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 270 Gifford Street, Falmouth. A private burial took place in the Church Yard Cemetery, Woods Hole, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Cape Cod, 255 Independence Drive, Hyannis, MA 02601 or the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 270 Gifford Street, Falmouth, MA 02540.
