About	Cape Cod News Jun 7, 2016 William F. McDermott III, 68, of Mashpee, formerly of Buzzards Bay, passed away suddenly at his home June 4, 2016. He was loving husband of 40 years to Nancy (Richardson) McDermott of Mashpee. He was born April 6, 1948 in Dorchester, MA the son of the late William F. and Eleanor (DeAngelis) McDermott Jr. A 1966 graduate of Bourne High School, William later studied at Newbury College in Brookline, MA. Although, he built a home and raised a family in Mashpee since 1976, he has never forgotten his hometown of Bourne. He was a member of the Bourne Lions Club for many years. He is a lifetime member of the Wareham New Bedford Elks, where he made many lasting friendships. Bill was passionate about the outdoors and cultivating the beauty around him. He loved gardening and keeping his home and yard exquisite. He was a grounds keeper for the Willowbend Country Club until his early retirement in 2004. Bill was a dedicated husband, father, brother and friend throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, especially his family. He was the brother of the late Frances Degan.
