About	Paul Crosby Friday, May 30, 2008 Soldotna resident Paul Crosby died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska after a year long illness. His family was by his side. He was 66. A family memorial service was held at Peninsula Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 28 and a celebration of his life was held on Cape Cod, MA at a later date. Mr. Crosby was born August 1, 1941 to Edward and Margaret Crosby in Somerville, MA. He graduated from Bourne High School and attended East Coast Aero Technical School in Danvers, MA. He worked for various contractors on oil platforms in Cook Inlet and the North Slope for many years and retired from Arco/British Petroleum. "He was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed woodworking and carving birds and wildlife in the "Hide Out," a shop he built to enjoy his crafts. Paul loved to hunt and fish in the vast wilderness of Alaska, but also missed his roots on Cape Cod. He loved to travel and explore new places, planning for the perfect spot to purchase a winter getaway. Cruises with friends were one of his favorite vacations. He doted on his special puppy, Ozzie. Paul was loved by all of his family and his passing leaves a void in all our lives. He will be greatly missed," his family said. Mr. Crosby was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Donald and Alan. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Mr. Crosby's name to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
