Services were held yesterday in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Bourne for Walter J. Stahura, Principal of Bourne High School for 20 years until his retirement in 1967.
Mr. Stahura died of a stroke Friday at Tobey Hospital, Wareham. He was 84 and lived in Buzzards Bay.
A native of Seymour, CT Mr. Stahura graduated from Bates College in 1928 and received a master's degree from Bridgewater State College. He joined the Bourne School System in 1930 as a mathematics and science teacher.
