About	Sep. 9, 1997 John M. Butler, 54, Commercial fisherman, formerly of Buzzards Bay WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - John M. "Marty" Butler, 54, formerly of Buzzards Bay, died of cancer August 25, 1997 at Hospice of Palm Beach County. Mr. Butler was born in Chicopee and was raised in Buzzards Bay. He graduated from Bourne High School in 1961. He graduated as an electrical draftsman from Coyne Electrical School in Boston in 1963. Mr. Butler managed Sambo's Pancake House in Bakersfield, CA while serving with the Marine Corps Reserves from 1964 to 1970. He then returned to Buzzards Bay and was employed as a commercial fisherman on Cape Cod until moving to West Palm Beach in 1983. There, Mr. Butler had worked for the U.S. Postal Service. A memorial service was held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Chapel, 101 Academy Drive, Buzzards Bay.
