STOUGHTON
Peter James Cardoza Sr., 59, of Stoughton died at home Tuesday, April 21, 1998.
He was the son of the late Manuel J. Cardoza Sr. and Antonia Monteiro.
Born and raised in Bourne, he lived in Wareham for many years and in New Bedford for eight years before recently moving to Stoughton.
He graduated from Bourne High School in 1957, where he was senior class president. He was co-captain of the football team and lettered in football, baseball and basketball. He also played semi-pro football for the Falmouth All Stars and the Wareham Gateway Club.
Mr. Cardoza was a member of the United Social Club in New Bedford where he helped organize several sports leagues and managed championship teams.
He was the brother of the late Evelyn Roderick.
The funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church, Shore Road, Pocasset.
