| About Me | After working from age 14 to 24 for my father's paving company (Par-King Enterprises), I was an independent insurance agent for 15 years, specializing in life and health insurance and estate planning and earning an LUTCF designation. I then founded and ran a national children's charity called Project Action Foundation which paid for over 15,000 children to join martial arts, dance and gymnastics schools all across the United States. The late Florida Governor Lawton Chiles presented meand my co-founder, Jim Graden, with the Governor's award in 1997. I was apoointed to the Florida Juvenile Justice Foundation in 1998 and was Board Chair from 2004-2007, having served all five secretaries of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. I created National Martial Arts Day (NMAD) in 2002 to draw attention to the positive benefits of martial arts training and to attract new participants. NMAD was officially recognized by Proclamation by 44 State Governors, President Bush and the U. S. Olympic Committee. Over the last 4 years I have coached little league baseball and soccer. Due to the downturned economy, Project Action closed in February 2008. I joined my wife Cindy as a mortgage broker with TriCounty Mortgage in January 2008. Since becoming a loan officer, I have rescued several homeowners from foreclosure by utilizing the benefits of a reverse mortgage.
