| About | Kenneth P. Grieve, 91 of Spencer, Ohio passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2025 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina following a brief illness. He was born in Litchfield, Ohio on March 20, 1934 to the late Anthony and Veronica (Gehlhausen) Grieve. The family moved to Spencer where he graduated from Spencer High School in 1952. Ken was an outstanding member of the basketball team, making the All-County Team his senior year. He married Jeannine Breyley on August 14, 1954, and they have resided in Spencer all of their lives. Ken worked for Spencer Tire for 35 years. He also assisted Parker Funeral Home in Spencer and Lodi in many capacities including the funeral home’s emergency ambulance service in the 1960’s and 70’s. He was a former member of the Spencer Fire Department and Spencer Village Council. Ken had been involved with the local Little League Baseball and Spencer Boy Scout Troop, and in his younger days drove in stock car races at Lorain County Speedway. He was an avid walker and kept physically fit and actively working well into his eighties. Surviving is his wife of 71 years, Jeannine; daughter, Glenda Burgett; sons, Gary (Tammy), and Thomas (Connie); 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 4 brothers, Lenny, Claude, Marvin “Fin”, and Don. |
| Events | Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 21, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Spencer United Methodist Church, 201 East Main St., Spencer, Ohio, where his Memorial Service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3 p.m. Rev’s.
