Michael has been deployed to Iraq when the war first started and he has served one tour in Afghanistan( the deployment was cut short due to his return to his younger brothers' funeral). Michael has since been deployed again to Afghanistan where he is currently fighting the Taliban by the Pakistan border.

Our Benavides High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Benavides High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Benavides are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
