He was the owner of Root Television Production, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Lafayette. He died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at noon, conducted by Dr. Lynn Morrison. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his fiancée, Laurie Jo Terrell; stepfather, William H. "Bill" Martinez Jr.; father, A.G. Root III and wife Jenny; three daughters, Abbey Lynn Root, Paige Elizabeth Root and Blair Katherine Root; two nephews, Cullen Jameson Root and Carson Kimball Root; half sister, Rachel Root Hoolahan; and a sister-in-law, Jill Root. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Jeanette Martinez; brother, Jay Kimball Root; and half brother, Andrew Root. Pallbearers will be Cullen Root, Carson Root, Frank Hillyard, Dennis McCain, Diego Cortez, Lock Anderson and Ricky Lea. He was a loving father, uncle and brother-in-law who devoted his Christian life to his family and friends. "The greatest gift I ever had came from God; I call him Dad."
