Bea Benson

Class of 1956

Bea Benson graduated from BCHS in 1956. Bea Graduated from Montana State with a degree in chemistry in 1959.
She taught high school for two years at Tucson then went back to MSU and got her Masters Degree in MATH. She taught at MSU for 4 years then got married in 1963. She had three kids, and was a stay at home mother until they got into kindergarten.
In subsequent years, Bea taught math in a series of Universities around the country. These included, University of Saint Cloud, St. Cloud, MN, Missouri Western University, St. Joseph, MO, Southwestern Minnesota University, in Marshall, MN, the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks, ND, and Minot State University, at Minot, ND where she stayed the last 17 years of her career.
Now with all this going on, Bea had a brain tumor removed at Mayo Clinic in 1987, along with 19 later corrective surgeries. Her surgery left her face paralyzed. The North Dakota cold weather would freeze her face, so they moved to Spokane from Minot after retiring for the milder climate, where she and her husband now live.
