FROM THE MAY 22 1956 BEAVER - “Benny Brown wills himself from BCHS.”
CLASS OF 1956 REUNITED AFTER TWENTY YEARS - “Benny Brown - Game Warden of Beaverhead County. Just caught his first criminal.”
AFTER HIGH SCHOOL - Right after high school, Ben went into the US Army. He was stationed at a missile base in Detroit, Michigan as a missile crew member.
After getting out of the Army, Ben went into heavy construction, initially building interstate bridges. He worked in Butte, Billings, Great Falls, and Missoula on bridges. During this time he worked out of Dillon. Ben later went to work on one of the high rise dorms at the campus in Bozeman in carpentry.
In 1986 Ben went to work for Western in maintenance where he stayed for 17 1/2 years. He retired in 2002.
FAMILY - Ben was married to Sharon Williams from Phillipsburg, MT in 1962. They have two daughters, Shelley and Denise.
Shelley married Jim Tilstra from Bridger. They live in Twin Bridges, and Shelly works substitute teaching in grade school. Jim owns a ranch in Twin Bridges. They have one daughter, Amy, 12.
Denise is married to Jerry Thrasher from Missoula, and they live in Missoula. Denise works at NAPA Auto Parts. Jerry owns his own plumbing business. They have one daughter, Nikaila, 16.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES - A typical Montanan Ben prefers camping and hunting.
HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES - Ben hung out primarily with Jim Nettick. High school was not one of the highlights of his life.
