I joined the U.S. Navy during the spring of my senior year, April 1969. I went on active duty in July of that year and 11 months later I reported to Naval Advisory Group in Saigon Vietnam. My last two years of active duty were sea-duty. I also spent an additional four years in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
