Fallen Heroes Memorial Dedication

FALLEN HEROES MEMORIAL DEDICATION
On Tuesday, May 29, 2012 a memorial will be dedicated to our Fallen Heroes, Isaiah Hunt and Justin Ross, two Bay Port graduates who were killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The memorial will take place at 5:30 p.m. in front of the main entrance at Bay Port High School. Everyone is invited to participate in honoring the service and sacrifice of these young men and their families.

A black marble memorial was created through a group effort by many students and staff at Bay Port High School. The Hoops for Troops team of students Allie Ostert, Hannah Long and Nikki Meacham-Zeise raised most of the funds needed. Art Teacher Todd Richardson designed the memorial plaque which was metal crafted by tech ed teacher Adam Cochart and student Paul Kontny, along with the many efforts of the Military Support Club members who worked to make this memorial a reality.

A sincere thanks and appreciation goes out to the following businesses that contributed to the building of the memorial: Robinson Metal, Inc., R-Tek, and Schlaefer-Martin Memorials.
