Served with the 44th Medical Brigade, 67th and 85th Evacuation Hospital Units in the Republic of South Vietnam. Later I also served in the Maryland Army National Guard's 136 Combat Support Hospital and The United Coast Guard Reserve assigned to the Marine Safety Office-Baltimore.

In 1967 commissioned a second lieutenant through the Morgan State College (now Morgan State University) ROTC Program. Served in multiple combat assignments to include Vietnam and elsewhere. Awarded combat infantry badge, parachutist badge, ranger tab, five Bronze Stars *(3 for Valor), purple heart, air medal, meritorus service medal, 2 army commendation medals (w/ v),
vietnamese cross of gallantry and numerous service medals. In 1967, retired.

I served as the 38th Installation Wing Senior Enlisted Advisor and Superintendent for the Air Intelligence Agency Inspector General.

After graduating from BCC, I decided to serve my 2 year reserve time and ended up staying for 30 years. I rose through the enlisted ranks to make chief gunner's mate technicain(E-7), and worked on 5 inch guns and the Asroc missile system, and I was later commissioned as chief warrant officer(W-2) nuclear ordnance technician, I was the Nuclear weapons assembly officer on the USS Forrestal CV-59, and retired as CWO-4. I served on board USS Loyd Thomas DD-764, USS Harry E Yarnell DLG-17, USS Leahy DLG-16, USS Jonas Ingram DD-938, USS Paul FF-1080, and USS Forrestal CV-59. I served overseas in Sasebo, Japan. I have been stationed in Newport, R.I, Norfolk, VA, Charleston, SC, and Mayport, FL. I have visited the continents of South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
