Amy and I were close friends in high school and remained in touch throughout the years. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim Rothgery, and they had 2 children (Alissa and Graham). A few times our families went camping together. Her teenage son and my son are the same age and enjoy each other's company which has been a kick (given that Amy and I started out as friends at the same age).

Sadly, Amy died from cancer in 2007. She had been sick for quite a few years. I was in touch with her up till the end and attended her funeral.
