Mark C. Johnson, age 57 of Austin, died Sunday at his home. He was born September 26, 1949 to Clestine and Mildred (Kraft) Johnson in Austin, Minnesota. Mark attended Neveln Elementary, Ellis Jr. High, Austin High School, Austin Junior College and Austin Area Vocational School.
Mark enjoyed the arts, music, books, and theater. He was a voracious reader, excellent writer and reporter. He won many awards for his journalistic excellence over his career. He also enjoyed being a movie critic for many of his employers.
Mark worked in Rochester, Minnesota, El Paso, Texas, and Hattiesburg, Mississippi prior to returning to Austin to be closer to family and friends. Mark was a loyal family member as well as a friend.
He will be missed by all who new him. Rest in peace.
