Donovan Darrel Arends, 49, of Austin, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at the Austin Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 29, 1952, in Austin to Norman and Genevieve (Berning) Arends. He was a lifelong resident of the Austin area.
On March 18, 1978, he married Denise Brechtel in Osage, Iowa. The couple made their home in Austin, where Don worked for L.L. Hage Company.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Arends, Austin; son, Darin V. Arends, Austin; one grandson; parents, Norman and Genevieve Arends, Austin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janette and Wylie Hovey, Rochester; Star and Mory Johnson, Austin; brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Sandy Arends, Lonsdale; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
