Derek Max Larson, 35, of Austin, Minnesota, died at his home on Wednesday, May 2, 2007.
He was born on October 4, 1971, to Kenneth and Wendy (Hanson) Larson, in Austin. He was a graduate of Austin High School, and returned to Austin recently after making his home in Rochester for 12 years. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Alyssa and Jessica Larson, both of Stewartville, Minnesota; his parents, Wendy and Kenneth Larson, of Austin; his brothers: Levon (Melissa) Larson, of Austin, Joshua (Karen) Larson, of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; his grandparents, Olaf Hanson, Elmer and Leona Schwartz, of Austin; nephews, Ethan, Keagan and Max Larson; fiance Shannon Apold and her daughter, McKenna, all of Austin.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Maxine Hanson; paternal grandfather, Gail B. Larson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, with Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
The Worlein Funeral Home in Austin was in charge of arrangements.
