Samuel Merritt, age 74, passed away on March 23, 2026. He was born on July 27,1951 in Austin, MN to Chester and Margaret Merritt. He is a graduate of AHS class of 1970. Samuel married Barb Locher in 1969 and divorced in 1973. They had two children together, Shelli and Jason. In 1982 Sam married Ann Rydholm in Portland Oregon.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents and siblings William and Trace.

I remember Sam from his family's business in Sterling. I was employed there during my high school years at Merritt's China and Gift shop. He was a very pleasant individual at that time.
