Gene (Geno) Anderson, 71, of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully on October 2, 2023, after losing his battle with kidney cancer. Gene grew up in Austin, MN. Born May 3, 1952, he was the son of Florence (Mickey) Botkin and Richard Anderson, both deceased. He attended Austin High School and Austin Community College. He married Mary Hesch on June 18, 1977 and divorced in 1986. They had two daughters, Jennifer and Amber. He later moved to Rochester where he worked at NRI electronics for 42 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, watching sports, fishing, collecting agates and Indian artifacts. People who knew him, called him their friend. He is now at peace and no longer in pain.
Gene is survived by his two daughters, Amber Sikora and Jennifer Gibson, 4 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, his sister Shary Sund and 2 nephews. His celebration of life will be held at the Stewartville American Legion, 1100 2nd Ave. NW, Stewartville, MN on Nov. 5 from 1-3 p.m.
