Basic Training at Great Lakes Naval Base starting April 1944,. 6 months Naval Radio School at Univ. of Wis., Naval Bases & schools: Camp Bradford, Va., Fort Pierce. Fl., Pier 92 NYC while attending classes at Columbia Univ,, on 3 different minesweepers in the Atlantic & Pacific. Minesweep operation Japan Inland Sea, Kobe Japan in 1945 after Japanese surrender, Minesweep operation China Sea, Shanghai China. Flag Radioman Commander Naval Forces Manila Philippines, Temp. duty to Perth Austrailia for preparation of a 1946 world record breaking flight of the Truculent Turtle P2V which is now in the Naval Museum in Pensacola Fl., Radio supervisor Fleet Weather Central, Clark Air Field, Manila P.I.. Recalled into USNR March 1948, installed 5 types of naval ship transmitters in new Reserve Amory Green Bay Wis., Ships Company Great Lakes Naval Base, Ill. USS Keywadin a fleet tug Atlantic coast towing out of Boston, Charlestown Naval Air Station RI. transmitter & repair group. Released to inactive duty from Great Lakes Illinois in Sept 1949. Seven service metals with 2 battle stars for my WWII USN enlistment.
