Classmate Memories

Mike was a true friend in high school, and some of my fondest memories are of the two of us and a football. A couple of times I even spent the night at his house so we could get up early and throw the ball, running pass patterns until we were laughing and exhausted.
The last time I saw him was in 2015 in Lexington, KY. He was facing some hard times then, but that famous smile of his still lit up the room the moment we reconnected. We spoke a few times after that, and I’ve carried those conversations with me.
You had such a good soul, Mike. I’m going to miss you until we meet again.

I remember walking from my house on Parrott Drive to CSM for the graduation rehearsal when Mike pulled over in his blue Mustang and asked if I'd like a ride. I hopped in and thought he was a pretty cool guy for that.

Michael Anthony Whiteside was born on October 29,1958, but the exact location is unknown at this time. At Aragon, he participated in varsity football and was a member of the track team. There is very little information online about Michael's life, but it is noted that he lived in Pasadena, California after living in San Mateo. He reportedly lived in Kentucky and Nevada, too. He is survived by Marques, Julia, Elena, and Pecora Whiteside. Attempts to contact Micheal's family members were in vain, but efforts to find more about his life and times continues.

I was in touch with Mike and we were planning a get together here in Colorado. He was an avid fisherman and was just as excited to catch up with me (and some fish) as I was with him. He first needed to heal some complications from Covid. I'm sure we'll have that rendezvous, just at another time and place. RIP my friend.
