"William Plaetke was a veteran who served as a CPL in the U.S. Army during Vietnam where he served two tours of duty. He was a member of the VFW. William died at the age of 52.
He was interred with military honors on Monday, April 24, 2011..."

From a brief obituary published in Benson, Arizona: "William was survived by his father Harold G. Plaetke of Paso Robles, Calif.; one daughter Anne Marie Rogers of San Diego, Calif.; and one granddaughter. William was a laborer and worked in the VA Hospital. He also served two-tours in Vietnam in the US Army and received a Purple Heart."
