About Carol, the daughter of Lt. Commander J.P. Hinton (MSC) US Navy (retired) and S. Pauline Hinton, lived in many places during her youth including San Diego, CA, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Annapolis, MD before moving to Belmont, MA to raise her family.

Carol is survived by her three children, Richard A. Gargiulo Jr. and his late wife Olive of Hyde Park, MA, Andrea Mitchell and her husband Daniel of Mashpee, MA, and Christopher Gargiulo and his wife Kristi of Cotuit, MA. Carol had nine grandchildren: Lucy, Molly, Megan, Sofia, Elena, Michael, Jake, Claudia, and Julia. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends who loved her like family.

First and foremost, Carol was an artist. Throughout her life she painted, drew, and doodled. She was a Photographer, an Actress with the Screenwriter's Guild, a Model, and a Designer. In retirement, she discovered a love for creative writing in the form of short stories and poetry. Carol made many special friends in Weymouth and Pocasset when she joined senior writing and reading groups. All these groups blossomed into far more than just weekly discussion groups. It became her new network of dear friends.

For decades, Carol kept active with her frequent visits to the pool and truly enjoyed walking with friends, family, and their pets on the beaches and trails near her homes in Weymouth and Cape Cod. She loved caring for all her grand-dogs and showed kindness to all animals large and small.

She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Parish where she became a Eucharistic Minister. She proudly took on the responsibility of facilitating Sunday mass by doing the livestream services for the members of Cape Cod Senior Residence where she lived for the past three years making special connections with many of her neighbors. Carol also had a beautiful garden of flowers there and some say hers was the envy of all. She and her radiant smile will be deeply missed.

A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 841 Shore Road, Pocasset, MA 02559 on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 10:00am, followed by a burial at Mosswood Cemetery, 280 Putnam Ave., Cotuit, MA 02635.

In lieu of flowers, Carol requested donations to the VNA Hospice & Palliative Care team on Cape Cod in her memory. You can call 1-508-862-5600 or click Ways to Give at the top of www.giving@capecodhealth.org.
