Labelle, Florida - Bruce Elliott McLendon of Miami passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 5th in Labelle, FL aboard his retirement home, the sailing vessel Manana. He left this world too early, but just as he wanted, on the water and in peace with his wife Suzie by his side.
Bruce was born in Jacksonville, FL and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. He served our country proudly in Vietnam with the US Navy.
Bruce is pre-deceased by his parents, Madison and Doris McLendon and his brother Madison McLendon, Jr.
Bruce is survived by his daughters, Allison Lombardo and Ashley Prevatt; grandson Oliver Prevatt; brothers, David and John McLendon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends across the country.
Given the pandemic, family and friends will be notified of a memorial service and Bruce's final voyage to be held at a later date at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club in Miami.
