| About Me | I attended Mount Holyoke College where I majored in Art History and Philosophy. While there, I chaired the MHC Debating Society (the oldest collegiate debating society for women in the United States), was an RA, coached Middle and High School debate as a part of the Springfield Urban Debate Leage and served as a mentor for Take the Lead! I spent my junior year abroad reading art history at University College London. After leaving Mount Holyoke, I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Chad, Africa where I taught English as a Foreign Language and worked closely with women/girl's empowerment and maternal/child health education. I served as the chair of the Committee on Gender and Development and worked with Peace Corps staff to develop an integrated GAD training program. I served as a Volunteer Trainer in community integration and issues working with women/girls and youth. I also wrote the Peace Corps Chad cookook and provided volunteer training in health, nutrition and minimalistic cooking techniques, We were evacuated in Aprill 2006 due to civil unrest and I returned to Dallas where I found a job selling tea for a local company. I was accepted into the Culinary Arts Management Program at the Culinary Insitute of America. I've worked in food acquisition at one of the largest food banks in the Northeast and as the Mid-Atlantic Farm to School Coordinator. I've served on numerous local, regional and national boards.
