Alumni Stories
Lois J. Chandler
Class of 1972
From a dental assistant/ medical assistant, to emergency pre-hospital medicine, to nursing, I believe that I have excelled in all areas. As a paramedic, I advanced to Station Chief with 25 employees, to the Field Operations Supervisor responsible for the EMS service for three counties; and 230 employees. In later years, while attending nursing school consecutively, I stepped back into a Station Chief position until I retired in 2008. I have functioned as an Intensive Care nurse since that time, and now am a House Nursing Supervisor for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, KY. My prize achievement, however, I consider to be my three children; who have become fine, mature, educated, and hard working adults. I have worked hard all my life, and feel that I am very blessed with the opportunities i have had throughout my life. I currently am a licensed paramedic in the state of Ohio, I have an Associate degree in both Nursing and Pre-Hospital Emergency Services, and a Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing.
