About Ann Marie (Rebovich) Anderson, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the age of 92. Although she had lived in North Carolina for many years, her heart never left Akron.
Ann was born on September 23, 1932, to the late Matt and Anna Rebovich. She graduated from Akron Central High School, as salutatorian of her class, and continued her education at Bryant & Stratton College. She worked for many years for the Social Security Administration.
Ann was an avid reader, enjoyed watching sports, especially tennis, and loved music. She gathered weekly with friends to bowl and play cards, continuing these activities until her passing. She was a faithful servant and very active in her church, Grace Communion International, attending weekly services and participating in bible studies. Her greatest joy in life was her large family.
Ann is survived by daughters, Sandy (Bryan) Sugg of Akron, NY, Susie (John) Caron of Akron, NY, Ginny (Joe) Wirth of Concord, NC, Colleen (Kevin) Henry of West Chester, PA, and Amy (Dale) Terry of Carolina Beach, NC, and Stepdaughters, Debbie (Larry) Laktash, Christine (Sandy) Bussard, and Crystal Keufer; brother, Bill (Marge) Rebovich and sister, Ruth Rebovich; grandchildren, David, Matthew, Amanda, Melissa, Justin, Kevin, Kristen, Max, Bailey, DJ, and Olivia, and great grandchildren, Alexander, Joshua, Annabelle, Samantha, Savannah, Levi, Hannah, and Jackson; and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Events A celebration of Ann’s life will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 3pm in the Chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord, NC 28026 (704-786-1161). Live streaming will be available: https://video.ibm.com/channel/hartsell-funeral-home-concord. Attendees are encouraged to wear bright cheerful colors, in particular purple (Ann’s favorite color). Visitation and lite hors d’oeuvres to follow the service.
