I'm Cheryl Brown-Avery, New Hanover High School Class of 1977. I'm a North Carolina Author of 2 books, Summers to Remember and Where it all Began. I attend Louisburg College, Louisburg, NC where I received honors of Phi Theta Kappa. I retired early from teaching in order to pursue my writing career. I'm a motivational speaker traveling across the United States speaking to the youth about the dangers of drugs, gangs, etc., hoping to save a many as I can. Since 2004, my first books, Summers to Remember has caused such a great sensation, that I attended The Tony Danza Show in 2005 and was introduced to celebrities such as Diane Sawyer. My childhood adventures on my grandparents farm in rural NC has captivated the hearts of children and adults around the world. I've done National radio and television promotions, and attended The of Wine and Words in Washington, DC for The Reading Connection. This agency is one of the countries largest literary programs in the country. I donated to children shelters in the D.C. area copies of Summers to Remember. God has truly blessed my life and I'm proud to be a NHHS Class of 1977 Alumni. One of my speaking tours brought me back to Wilmington, NC in 2005 I spoke at NHHS.
