What is Beth Grant known for?

Beth Grant, an American actress, was born on September 18, 1949, in Gadsden, Alabama. She later grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina, where she graduated from New Hanover High School in 1967.

Grant has had an impressive career in both television and film. Between 2012 and 2017, she was a series regular on the TV comedy The Mindy Project as Beverly Janoszewski. She also had notable roles in the CBS post-apocalyptic drama series Jericho, and the TV shows Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, and Mockingbird Lane.

In film, Grant is best known for her roles in "Rain Man" (1988), "Child's Play 2" (1990), "Speed" (1994), "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar" (1995), "Donnie Darko" (2001), "Little Miss Sunshine" (2006), "No Country for Old Men" (2007), and "The Artist" (2011). She also portrayed Lady Bird Johnson in "Jackie" (2016) and had a role in "Lucky" (2017).

Later in her career, she featured in the recurring role of "The Woman with Hair but No Beard" in Netflix's "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and as the Cat Lady in Hulu's "Dollface". She has demonstrated her remarkable versatility by appearing in three Oscar Best Picture-winning movies: "Rain Man", "Speed", and "Little Miss Sunshine".

Grant's inspiration to pursue acting came from her mother, an Equal Rights Amendment activist. After high school, she attended East Carolina University, where she graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing. She then moved to New York City to chase her acting dreams.
