Commissioned through ROTC at Univ of Maryland in '65. ICBM crew, staff, and command slots at bases in Kansas, Arkansas (twice), and California. Instructor at Air University, Staff slots in Pentagon, USAFE Hq in Germany, and at US State Department. Retired as Colonel in 1992 after 27 years of service.

Served as a Marine Helicopter pilot in Viet Nam from 1969 to 1970. Later stationed as a SAR pilot in Yuma, Arizona followed by a two year assignment as an instructor pilot in H-1 Hueys at Camp Pendleton, Ca. Served three additional years as a Reserve pilot with the rank of Major. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Active duty Surface Warfare Officer. Currently stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan. Spent over 11 years aboard ships going to sea - and now in the dry parched lands of Afghanistan supporting the training and mentoring of the Afghan National Security Forces.

Joined summer 1980 and served as a helicopter crewman and search and rescue swimmer. 2nd enlistment, joined the Seabees and stayed until retirement 1 Sept 2012. Medically retired due to injuries in Afghanistan. Now living in Myrtle Beach, staying busy with projects around the house/workshop and VA appointments.
