James Henning, , of Beach Park, IL, passed away after a lengthy illness on June 14, 2020 at Vista Medical Center East. Jim was born September 26, 1937 in Waukegan, IL to George and Luella Henning. He was a life-long resident of the area and graduated from Zion-Benton Township High. He married Gloria McMullen on August 3, 1957. Jim was a member of Yorkhouse Methodist Church in Waukegan, and he retired from Johnson Motors and ZF Services. Jim was a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed working on old cars and was a mechanic with a local area stock car racing team. Jim’s pride and joy was his family and especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria; children, Patricia Henry, Susan (Scott) Massimo, and Jeffrey (Tammy) Henning Sr.; grandchildren, Tiffany (Eric) Heide, Tyler Henry, Joshua Massimo, Jessica Massimo, Jeffrey “JJ” Henning, and Drew Henning; great-grandchildren, William Watson, and Byron McCollum; and a sister, Evelyn Kleinbach. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and siblings, Leon Henning, Harland Henning, Eleanor Clark.
