In Memory of

Richard Perez 77 of Beach Park, IL passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday April 1, 2018 in his home.

Richard was born on December 3, 1940, the youngest of 12 children, in Waukegan IL. He attended Beach Park Elementary Schools and graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1958. His was one of the first Mexican families in Waukegan. His father owned a restaurant, The 400 Cafe, where his entire family worked at various times.

In 1963 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Evans. Soon thereafter they moved into a home in Beach Park and stayed there for the rest of their lives. He was a beloved father to daughters Laura and Maria. He was employed for 40 years with Nosco Printing Co.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed collecting, listening to music, being with his grandchildren, visiting Chicago, stretching the Christmas season from July to December, and countless friendships. He was a member of Waukegan Masonic Lodge #78 and North Prairie UMC.

Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years Elizabeth, daughters Laura ( Luis) Hernandez and Maria Perez-Hametta, 5 grandchildren Luis, Elizabeth, Gracie, Joy and Laura. Also surviving are 4 sisters Teresa, Jennie, Delores, Rosie and 1 brother Eddie.

Richard was preceded in death by parents Eduardo and Rosa, as well as sisters Linda, Helen, Julia and Emily, and brothers Joe and Angelo.
