In Memory of

Stephanie L. Townsend, 76, of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. She was born September 7, 1940 in Long Beach, CA but has been a long time resident of Winthrop Harbor, IL and graduated from Zion Benton Township High School. Stephanie married Douglas Townsend on July 16, 1960 at Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, IL. She enjoyed playing league volleyball with friends and was on a bowling league with Doug in the Waukegan area. In her free time, Stephanie enjoyed collecting antiques, spending time up north at the cabin, traveling with family, but most of all, spending time with family and her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Doug Townsend; children, Christina (Peter) Falotico and Greg (Debbie) Townsend; grandchildren, Ryan Townsend, Jenna Dowdal, Justin (Rachel) Townsend, Jillian (Aaron) Wolf, and Hannah Rummel; 5 great-grandchildren, Madeline, Nicholas, Emma, Addison, and Mason; siblings, Louise VanWie and Robert Hoadley; mother-in-law, Ethel Townsend; close friends, Ron and Fran Pataska; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ray Hoadley; and father-in-law, Earl Townsend.
