Terry M. Wickersheim, born on January 5, 1942 in Waukegan, Illinois, passed away on May 18, 2026 in Zion, Illinois.
Terry attended Zion Benton Township High School before taking a job at Warwick Industries, in Zion, Illinois. He served bravely in the U.S. Army 1st 327th C. Company, 101st Airborne during Vietnam (April 29, 1966 thru July 7, 1967.) After he returned home he continued working at Warwick until he was hired at American Motors Company (AMC) in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He worked at AMC (later Chrysler Corporation) until his retirement after 31 years. In 1968, he purchased a home in Zion. On April 29, 1970 he met his neighbor and the love of his life, Pamela Stried. He proposed in June and they were married on July 18, 1970. He would say, “They just knew.” Their love story continued until his death almost 56 years later.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Pamela Wickersheim, his son Shawn (Tracy) Wickersheim and his daughter Dawn (Dan) Musich. He was a very proud grandfather to Cameron, Alexander and Annalise Wickersheim and Lily and Sarah Musich. His brother William “Bill” (Linda) Wickersheim, brother-in-law Gene (Margaret “Peggy”) Stried, sister-in- law Patricia Krueger. He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Percy H. Wickersheim, his mother, Vernetta L. (Prentice) Wickersheim, his sister Beverly J. Jepson, his brother-in-law Jerrold Jepson, Sr, and his son, David L. Wickersheim.
He will always be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor and his willingness to always lend a hand to anyone in need. In his younger years he enjoyed camping with his wife and children. He especially enjoyed inviting fellow campers to join his family around the campfire. In later years he loved taking walks with Pam by Lake Michigan.
