Dwayne L. Lucy, age 84, of Zion, IL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday June 25, 2018 at Rolling Hills Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 10, 1933 in Zion, IL, the son of the late Marion E. Lucy and Helen M. Meissner. He was a graduate of Zion Benton High. Dwayne served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1956 he married Joan Wright in Zion, IL. He began working in the family business “ Lucy’s Appliance Store” and eventually took over ownership and worked there for over 60 years.
He enjoyed vacationing in Cozumel, Mexico during the winter and was a member of the Gideons and Lakeview Church of Zion.
Surviving Dwayne are his wife Joan of 62 years, three sons David (MaryEllen), Dean (Colleen) and Daniel (Rita). Five grandchildren: Dustin Lucy, Dana Lucy, Lauren (Todd) Groblewski, Corin (Matt) Slabaugh and Caity Lucy. One great grandchild Jack Groblewski, one sister, Shirley (Tom) Winans. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
