Carolyn “Jean” Johnson, 93, of Blue Island, Illinois, passed away June 9, 2023 in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois.
Jean was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 7, 1929. She finished her schooling at Zion Benton High School before marrying Robert A. Johnson. She was a member of Christian Training Center in Beach Park. Jean was an avid reader, and her favorite book was the bible. She nightly prayed for her family, and would text them a bible verse on a regular basis. She loved Jesus with all of her heart. She was all about family and took part in caring for all. Holiday celebrations were very important. She loved to knit, Crotchet, and work in her flower gardens.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Linette Parrish; grandchildren, Daniel Wooten, Rachel (Jason) Pearce, Elise (Luis) Martinez, Andrew (Kira) Johnson; great grandchildren, Kyle Wooten, Kyson Pearce, Cydnie Pearce, Amelia Martinez; siblings, Janet Wilson, Donald Tjader, David Tjader; daughter-in-law, Trudi Johnson; and sister-in-law, Ingrid Tjader.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Johnson; son, Timothy Johnson; sister, Dorothy Stofferahn; brothers, Warren Tjader and Richard Tjader; brothers-in-law, Dean Wilson and Norm Stofferhn; sisters-in-law Violet Tjader and Betty Tjader; and parents, William and Jennie Tjader
